South Africa Stats incorrect in table

[edit]

South Africa have played a total of 16 ODIs (losing 9) instead of 17 ODIs (losing 10). Someone need to correct it. I could not find the option to do that. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krick3r (talkcontribs) 18:58, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ICC World Super League

[edit]

How will get a Champion in icc world Super League Divyakaran Singh Joshi (talk) 06:31, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't meant to be a 'champion' as such. KakapoKiwi12 (talk) 03:06, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa and India

[edit]

They are listed in 9 series. I thought teams were only getting 8. 110.33.28.251 (talk) 14:19, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Series

[edit]

England have already played their 4 home series (against Ire, Aus, Sl and Pak) they will play their series against South Africa in South Africa 57 slimshady (talk) 09:24, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering the same, but the fixtures in England appear on the ICC website. I can't find an actual news article reporting this, but in guessing there was no time to fit in a series in SA, so rather than cancelling outright, they've recategorised the planned fixtures in England. Spike 'em (talk) 09:54, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As per [1], the CWC Super League is going to be abolished after the 2020-23 iteration, its only league. Therefore, don't need two articles on the same thing Joseph2302 (talk) 09:27, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

if there is only one edition, I'd do the merge the other way around (i.e. merge this page into the un-numbered one). Spike 'em (talk) 11:04, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as per ICC, they are going to abolish this league system after this lone season. So, it's better to merge those articles into one. Sony R (talk) 04:16, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Bit late to the original discussion, I think there's enough scope for two stand-alone articles, with the main one having all the info about the background, structure, format, etc. While it's a WP:CRYSTAL guess - never say never with the ICC, after they've brought back the Champions Trophy (again...). Series

[edit]

Let me tell you every team will play 4 series at home and 4 away, England have already played their 4 home series (2 in 2020 and 2 in 2021) their series against South Africa will be overseas not at home 57 slimshady (talk) 09:56, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the ICC list them as fixtures for this tournament, then they are. I know every team is meant to play 4 series at home and 4 away, but maybe the ICC has changed that? Either way, Wikipedia is a tertiary source- we follow what reliable sources, in this case the ICC, say, instead of doing what we believe to be true. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:01, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why you couldn't continue the discussion above, but both ICC and cricinfo show the fixtures in England as forming part of the Super League. Covid has fucked things up. Spike 'em (talk) 10:04, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Though saying that, both sites also include the England v India matches next summer, even though those teams have played each other already last year. I can't find any ICC press releases that mention either series, so who knows what is actually happening? I guess until something definitive is reported that we have to go with the sources. League Table not updated

[edit]

Why is the league table of this tournament not updated? An ideal student (talk) 04:12, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Series

[edit]

Let me tell you that in the Schedule portion of this article, in the first table and in the India(Home) Line, India and South Africa will not play ODI series in June 2022. They are playing T20I series in June 2022. The series between these teams have been played earlier at South Africa on January 2022. An ideal student (talk) 04:18, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tiebreak procedure

[edit]

I don't find any mention of the tiebreak procedure in the playing conditions. Also, ICC official website indicates that the first tiebreak is Net Run Rate, not total number of wins as claimed here. 2405:201:5000:8113:99A3:ABB3:7E03:49B6 (talk) 07:59, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As per [ICC-CWC-Super-League-Playing-Conditions-Effective-1-October-2022.pdf (icc-cricket.com)] - Reg 16.13.2.1 the first tie-breaker is matches won, with NRR the second. Probably also worth noting that "won on walkover" is incorrect (as well as probably being something of a local expression at best) - the correct term (by 16.6) is either "Match conceded" or "Match awarded" - depending on the view of the Match Referee. It is probably incorrect to allocate points (or suggest they have been allocated) until a release from the ICC Match Referee is available. I suspect given that there will be nobody around to actually "concede" (or to accept the concession) the match will be awarded - but that's just my interpretation. 165.12.252.107 (talk) 03:18, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Australia and South Africa points table is not updated

[edit]

After cancellation of Australia vs South Africa series, the points table is not updated 103.163.18.74 (talk) 14:38, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Neither of the sources used in the article have added the results to their tables. Spike 'em (talk) 16:18, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

West Indies

[edit]

India hace qualified as hosts so West Indies would also qualify 119.237.108.86 (talk) 03:03, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source saying this? Spike 'em (talk) 07:06, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
if South Africa win 2 matches, it will have more points than WI, so I don't know how WI would also qualify. Kaaryanm (talk) 16:40, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bangladesh v India match result is not added

[edit]

Bangladesh won the series against India by 2-1 in home. Md. Farhan Afsar (talk) 07:04, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This series is not under Super League, there will be many ODI series, but not all are include in Super League Kaaryanm (talk) 16:41, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

West Indies haven't advanced to qualifier yet

[edit]

If south africa lose last game vs netherlands, they will finish below west indies as first tiebreak is no. of wins, not NRR.

So West Indies haven't made it to the Qualifier just as yet. 2607:FEA8:1DA1:9400:64B3:F48A:A1B4:F87A (talk) 17:43, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
